AIR MAX TN
Designed by Sean McDowell as a Foot Locker exclusive, the Air Max Plus started life in 1998 as a lightweight runner packing Nike’s all-new Tuned cushioning technology. Today, it’s a shape-shifting freak of nature, a French shark, a larrikin legend in Western Sydney, and a graffiti writer’s spray-fade muse that produces rivers of pure gold.
By reputation, it’s the numero uno Nike bad boy, beloved by ne’er-do-wells, who are either up to no good or about to be. Murdered-out in classy ‘Triple Black’ or cloaked in ‘Casper’ white, the TN slays all, though it’s the original ‘Hyper Blue’ and orange ‘Tiger’ gradients that are the crown jewels of this kingdom.
The thing about TN fans – aside from stereotypical bum bag and ankle monitor gags – is that they know what they like and they will not be persuaded otherwise. They are, by some margin, the most loyal and pugnacious sneakerhead gang of them all. Their unconditional love, not to mention their insatiable thirst, is precisely why the TN is still kicking ass on shelves today. With a fanbase this dedicated, the Air Max Plus will never flame out and fade away.
